The Times Top 50 Employers for Women

I'm thrilled to have completed the pilot of my very first Menopause Hub (TM) with Travis Perkins plc. Eight women from across the business took part in our new menopause support programme which offers coaching, health and wellbeing support, access to a midlife women’s leadership coach and menopause resources, and a support network of colleagues. It was a real privilege to support these women and I was delighted that they all reported an increase in positive outlook on their menopause journey following the programme. To learn more about our Menopause Hubs and how I can help support women in your organisation, please do reply to this email, I'd love to hear from you.

Here are my 3 things to know this month:

  1. The Times Top 50 Employers for Women 2022. The latest list of employers striving for gender equality in the workplace shows there are some amazing companies taking real action to create truly inclusive workplaces for women. Congratulations to all of our clients and companies who were listed this year! You can read more about this year's top 50 employers and what they are doing to accelerate gender equality in the full supplement here.

  2. Aviva CEO subject to sexist remarks from shareholders at AGM. In more disappointing news, it was reported that the chief executive of Aviva, Amanda Blanc, was on the receiving end of misogynistic comments at the company's AGM earlier this month. You can read Amanda's response in this Guardian article here. Stories like this show that despite progress, we still have a very long way to go to reaching gender parity at senior levels of business.

  3. The Confidence Conversation podcast - top episodes from last season. My latest podcast season on 'Getting to the top' had a fantastic response with the most popular episodes being 'How job sharing can boost your career' with Charlotte Cherry and Alix Ainsley from John Lewis Partnership and 'How to overcome challenges and obstacles' with Parv Sangera of The Bathroom Showroom. You can catch up on all previous episodes here and if you enjoy listening, please subscribe on your podcast app ready for the next season on 'Wellbeing and Self-care'.

Finally, I'm very happy that my book 'Don't fix women: the practical path to gender equality at work' will be published officially in November but is now on sale for pre-orders from all good bookshops! You can pre-order your copy here and do get in touch directly if you're interested in purchasing copies for your business or would like to book the launch tour for your organisation.

Until next time,

Joy
