Laura Simpson

Laura Simpson is a Senior Coach at Encompass Equality, an accredited Executive & Team Coach, and leadership development facilitator specialising in relational and emotional intelligence. She brings with her a career in Talent spanning FMCG, Finance and Law, most recently leading on Recruitment and L&D for the London office of a US law firm. Laura is no stranger to change, having moved to Seville at 25 without speaking a word of Spanish. Five years later she was working in the HR department of one of the largest FMCG organisations in Spain and supporting the CEO with the organisation’s international expansion!

As an Executive Coach, Laura has a whole-person coaching style, and brings a solution-focus approach to her work. Clients describe her style as warm, challenging and generous. She works with emerging and experienced leaders predominantly on areas related to voice: confidence and courage, communication, presence and impact, internal and external conflict, and working more powerfully with others. As a Team Coach, Laura partners with teams on their evolution from being ‘a team of leaders’ to ‘a leadership team’, working in service of a shared purpose. She walks with teams on their journey to connected high performance through increased collaborative intelligence, agility and resilience, and by expanding their collective capacity to create the value their stakeholders need from them.

Laura is passionate about supporting organisations to create healthy cultures with diversity and inclusion considerations at their core, and at the heart of her work is the importance of relationships and the belief that great minds do not, in fact, think alike. She frequently facilitates programmes on the development of emotional intelligence by seeing emotions as data, not as directives, as well as on managing crucial conversations.

Laura holds a master’s degree in HR Management & Organisational Analysis and is a qualified Mental Health First Aider and Board Trustee for the mental health charity Mind. She is based in West London, is Aunt to a little girl called Thea, and loves relaxing by reading, going spinning and listening to music.
